It’s important to understand the needs and desires of your audience. Understand their pleasure and more importantly, their pain and tell them how you can help, in their terms.
You might use a formal and focused approach when writing for a business audience, if that’s who you’re trying to attract. This would be different from the casual, easy going and jargonistic approach you’d take when writing for a younger audience.

Write Short and Sharp Website Copy
|
When writing for the web, it’s usually best to write short, sharp sentences, keeping your information brief and to the point. Headings are great for catching the eye and so is bolding or highlighting. But be careful as too much of these attention grabbing techniques may make your site look cluttered and confused.
Again, understand exactly what you're trying to achieve and then structure your message around this goal.
